A first child can be a very intimidating, yet exciting time for parents. It’s a time full of anticipation and hope, but also some fears. All of these emotions can add up to a very stressful year of expecting and nursing this beautiful new life. However, Kelly and Doug are pretty relaxed compared to other expecting parents. Kelly is a pilates instructor who has worked with pregnant ladies for years. She has also done her research. She knows a strong core and focused breathing will help in giving birth. Most importantly, Kelly’s faith is strong and she knows that God has control of it all.
After seeing her nephews grow, Kelly decided the time was right to have a child of her own. It does help that Doug has experience in this area from raising his two boys, so he’s got this! As fate would have it, God blessed them with a little girl, Kirra; the perfect addition to their happy clan. Both Doug and Kelly LOVE the beach and they surf a lot. It was natural that they would want a session along the coast. The tranquil scene of Crystal Cove was absolutely perfect for their maternity shoot.
For the most part, portrait and photo sessions are about making a connection with clients as well as capturing the essence of the occasion. During their personal maternity shoot, we had a great time discussing life and all the changes that come from engagements, marriage and parenting. As it turns out, we have a similar perspective on many topics. Our portrait presentation ended up longer with further girl chat about baby Kirra arriving and my upcoming wedding. There is no doubt that Kirra is going to be one lucky and loved little girl with all of the support and protection she could need. We can hardly wait for her to arrive. And don’t worry, baby portraits of this precious little girl will be coming soon.
Getting to know my clients is one of the many highlights of my job. Don’t forget to contact me for your personal and professional maternity photographs! I would love to get to know you and your growing family.
